Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) doesn’t seem to have a timeline on when he’ll announce whether he plans to run for re-election or not.

Cochran had previously said that he would announce his decision sometime in November. But he missed that deadline and now it’s unclear when he plans to announce.

“At this point, the senator has not indicated what his decision might be or when it might be announced,” Cochran spokesman Chris Gallegos told The Hill on Monday.

Cochran currently faces a serious primary challenge by state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R). If Cochran decides not to run again, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said he would also run. Among Democrats, former Mississippi Rep. Travis Childers also said he would run for Cochran’s seat if the incumbent senator retires.
