UPDATE: Dec. 2, 2015, 9:28 AM ET

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill gave an “all-clear” after a campus-wide alert Wednesday morning instructed campus to shelter in place after a report of an “armed and dangerous person” near the ROTC center.

The report was unconfirmed, but the alert asked campus to shelter in place. Another tweet from the university said all classroom and campus activities were “temporarily suspended.”

  2. Yes, I agree: those who are armed are dangerous.

  3. Why are college campuses gun free zones? The best way to protect yourself from knowledge is a gun.

  4. In the absence of such policies, however, you can always join a frat and binge drink the knowledge away.
