U.S. Capitol Dome To Undergo 2-Year Restoration With Scaffolding (PHOTOS)

The U.S. Capitol Dome is slated to undergo a 2-year restoration beginning in November, and the Architect of the Capitol released renderings Tuesday of what the process will look like.

In addition to restoration being done on the U.S. Supreme Court building and the Washington Monument, the Capitol Dome, which has suffered over 1,000 cracks, will be enclosed in scaffolding. See more photos of the damage to be repaired here.
