U.S. Astronaut Suni Williams Breaks Record For Most Time Spent Spacewalk By Female

Indian American NASA astronaut Sunita “Suni” Williams broke the record for the most combined time spent spacewalking by a female astronaut on Wednesday during an operation outside the International Space Station to install a new switching unit, NASA announced on its Google Plus page.

Williams set the new record for most spacewalk time 2 hours and 12 minutes into the spacewalk, her sixth, for a total combined spacewalk time of 39 hours and 46 minutes, besting her colleague, NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson
