President Donald Trump said Friday that he and Chinese President Xi Jinping had developed an “outstanding” relationship during their summit at the President’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Speaking to reporters at the end of what the White House schedule said was an “expanded bilateral meeting” between both leaders and their staffs, Trump said that he believed “lots of very potentially bad problems will be going away.”

He did not respond to shouted questions from reporters about North Korea’s nuclear program, or about the military strikes he recently ordered against a Syrian airbase.
