Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sunday that former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush could’ve won the Republican nomination four years ago.

Bush dropped out of the 2016 election race on Saturday after polling at the bottom. Trump called Bush a “good person” and “good man” in an interview aired Sunday.

“You know, four years ago. I think he would’ve won,” Trump said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“Jeb fought very hard, it just wasn’t his time. That’s all,” he said. “He’s a very capable person.”

Trump came in first place Saturday in the South Carolina GOP primary.
