FILE - In this Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 file photo, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks at a rally, in Las Vegas. A planned visit to Israel by U.S. Republican hopeful Donald Trump is turning into one big headache for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Israeli leader, widely seen as a supporter of the Republican Party, shares much in common with Trump. But cozying up to the GOP front-runner risks is fraught with risks, particularly after his controversial calls to bar Muslims from entering the U.S. and comments to a Jewish group that some said bordered on anti-Semitic. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Spanish language broadcaster Univision announced Thursday that they had settled litigation related to the network’s decision to not broadcast the Miss USA pageant last year.

Trump had sued the broadcaster for $500 million after it severed ties with the businessman and refused to broadcast the pageant. The terms of the settlement were confidential, according to a news release.

“I have known Univision’s President and CEO, Randy Falco, for more than 20 years and I’m glad we are able to put these differences behind us,” Trump said in a statement.

Falco had a similar response.

“I have known Donald Trump for many years in both a personal and professional capacity and we are pleased to settle this matter and move forward,” he said in a statement.

Univision refused to air the pageant in June after Trump called Mexican immigrants drug addicts and rapists. Trump, who had been a co-owner of the pageant organization, then bought the full rights to the pageant from NBC Universal, but soon after a talent agency and marketing firm acquired it from Trump.

  1. Must’ve been a wash, otherwise Drumpf would be rubbing their faces in it.

  2. Univision agreed to pay for the Southern Wall in exchange for Trump’s concession to let them pay for the Southern Wall. We’ll hear all about it during the next debate. Of course that’s a lie, but it won’t stop Trump from saying it. He’s a great negotiator.

  3. Sounds like another illustration of the art of the deal. “I’ll sue you for half a billion dollars, and wind up holding nothing more than my own yuuuge member.”

  4. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:…that “yuuuge” member can aptly be described as jumbo shrimp - wear your magnifier to locate it. Love your comment!
