Donald Trump on Monday blasted the United Nations, calling it “a club for people to get together, talk and have a good time,” a few days after the UN Security Council voted to condemn Israeli settlements in the West Bank with the United States abstaining from the vote.

The tweet from Trump follows criticism of the UN vote on Israel, after which he tweeted that “things will be different after Jan. 20th” and called the vote a “big loss” for Israel.
Trump also called on the United States to veto the vote before it took place and spoke with Egypt’s president, Abdel Fattah el-Sissi, about the resolution.

Just a bunch of do-gooders, always trying to help people. You can’t make any money doing that. I’m going to turn the UN into a real profit center; get rid of all these silly international treaties that stop countries from doing whatever they want to do. And Israel – gonna exempt Israel from the UN Charter. No restrictions on using military force to resolve disputes; no restrictions on colonizing conquered territory; no restrictions on denying citizens equal rights under the law. And compliance with Security Council Resolutions is going to be optional.
