President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he “wasn’t kidding” about building a “real wall” along the United States’ southern border. In fact, the president said, “the wall is getting designed right now.”
“It will be a real wall, and a lot of things will happen very positively for your cities, your states, believe me,” Trump said, addressing the Major County Sheriffs’ Association and Major Cities Chiefs Association joint conference.
He said that he “wasn’t kidding” about the wall.
“A lot of people say, oh, oh, Trump was only kidding with the wall. I wasn’t kidding. I don’t kid. I don’t kid,” Trump said. “I watched this and they say I was kidding. No, I don’t kid. I don’t kid about things like that, I can tell you.”
I’ve noted over the years that someone who keeps repeating themselves on what they believe or said, as Trump did above, does so since down deep they don’t think the audience or receiver believes them at all. Trump does this all the time, betraying a deep-seated fear he’s not being taken seriously.
Just sayin…
Honestly, I still cringe when I see the phrase, “President Donald Trump”.
Not sure how many people were I n the room, but the applause line responses were pretty tepid. I guess he forgot to bring his claque.
#bigdonniestRump …
Whenever he was caught saying something venal, he said ‘I was kidding. Jeez, can’t you guy take a joke?’
But now he says that he doesn’t kid. What gives, Donald?
