Even though Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged that President Obama was born in the United States, he’s still boasting about his role in the birther movement.

New Hampshire television station NH1 asked Trump if he stood by his comments during the Monday night debate that he “did a good job” getting Obama to release his birth certificate. In response, Trump bragged about his success in getting Obama to release his birth certificate and pushed the debunked narrative that Hillary Clinton’s 2008 campaign started the birther movement.

“I was the one that got him to put up his birth certificate. Hillary Clinton was unable to get there and I will tell you she tried. And you look at her campaign and everybody knows it happened,” Trump said. “And I would say that pretty much everybody agrees with me. But she tried and she was unable to do it and I tried, and I was able to do it. So I’m very proud of that.”
