Want to be hired by Donald Trump’s business empire? It could cost you.
For the next week, you can bid on a summer internship with the Trump Organization, which carries an estimated value of $100,000, according to a listing on CharityBuzz.
The internship will give a well-heeled recipient the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to answer phones, run errands, and do administrative work for the Trump Organization starting in June.
The intern also gets 15-minute sit-downs with Trump and each of his oldest children, Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Jr., to “pick their brains about how to be successful in the real estate & business world.”
The current highest bid for the internship was $40,000. While the listing says the role is paid, it wasn’t clear how much the intern would earn during the 10-week program.
Among the usual job requirements, the intern “must be comfortable working in close proximity & communicating effectively with high-net worth [sic] and/or high-profile individuals,” the listing said.
The proceeds from the auction will go to the Eric Trump Foundation to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Oh, fer gawd’s sake. Charity? As if that’s going to happen.
I would match in dollars the same amount of MPH his business jet is allowed to fly —
So, it’s “The Apprentice” but for charity? The charity of “Get Donald Trump Elected”?
The practice of “unpaid internships” is horrible. Leave it to Trump to take it up a notch to “pre-paid internships”.
