Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took a moment during Thursday’s primetime Republican presidential debate to share with the audience that he thought police officers were “the most mistreated people” in America.

Trump was talking about the mass shooting in San Bernardino and how police found pipe bombs in the terror attackers’ apartment when he went off on that tangent.

“And by the way, the police are the most mistreated people in this country,” he said to applause. “I will tell you that. The most mistreated people.”
