President Donald Trump is considering packaging an infrastructure plan with another major policy overhaul like health care or taxes in order to garner bipartisan support.

He told the New York Times on Wednesday that “infrastructure is so popular that I might want to use it for another bill.”

“I’m thinking about accelerating it. I’m thinking about putting it with another bill. Could be health care, could be something else,” he told the New York Times. “Could be tax reform.”

He said that Democrats are “desperate” for an infrastructure bill.

Trump would not specify how much his plan would use tax credits verses public funding.

“We haven’t made a determination as to public/private. There are some things that work very nicely public/private. There are some things that don’t,” he said.
