In an interview that aired on Sunday, Donald Trump said he hoped that the Trump Foundation complies with charity laws, indicating that he’s not involved in the organization’s operations.

“Well, I hope so, I mean, my lawyers do it,” Trump said when asked on Sharyl Attkisson’s “Full Measure” if his foundation follows charity laws.

The Washington Post reported last week that Trump has used charity funds to settle personal legal issues, which may break laws prohibiting nonprofit leaders from using their charities for personal gain.

Trump told Attkisson that his foundation does not make any profit.

“We give away money, I don’t make anything, I take no salaries, I take no—any costs, I have zero costs, and a lot of money goes through the Trump Foundation into charities — goes to charities, it doesn’t go to me, it goes to charities,” he said.

Watch the interview on “Full Measure.” Trump addresses his foundation at the 4:45 mark.
