President Donald Trump on Friday said that efforts to avoid a government shutdown are “going very well.”
“Now, we have government not closing. I think we’ll be in great shape on that, it’s going very well,” Trump said in an interview with the Associated Press. “Obviously that takes precedent.”
Trump said he has “a great relationship” with all the “various groups” in the Republican party.
“There’s a pretty vast area in there,” he said. “All great people. They’re great people.”
Asked if avoiding a government shutdown next week will take precedence over pushing changes to health care policy, Trump said: “Yeah, sure.”
And he has gotten so many of his stated 100 day goals done too…

US Gov’t shut - down makes it easier for foreign entities to swoop in… wonder if this is part of his deals with Putin/Xi?
He declared the 100 days standard “ridiculous” yesterday, so I can only assume he wasn’t in on the creation of this bunch of proposals. We continue to look for an FDR who got 15 pieces of legislation passed in his first 100 days.
On every issue, he’s only capable of generics and platitudes. Obvious tipoff he knows nothing about the subject at hand.
I feel dumber for having read his statements.
