Donald Trump on Tuesday night gave himself a pat on the back for an uptick in the Consumer Confidence Index.

The index rose to 113.7 in December, its highest level in 15 years. Lynn Franco, the director of economic indicators at the Conference Board said that the rise in consumer confidence in the economy could be attributed to “post-election surge in optimism for the economy, jobs and income prospects,” according to ABC News.
