For at least one moment, Donald Trump appeared to attempt a polite tone during Monday night’s presidential debate, asking Hillary Clinton if she was happy with him referring to her as “Secretary Clinton.”

The odd moment came during an exchange about trade agreements. Trump broke from his arguments seemingly to ask Clinton if she was okay with him referring to her as “Secretary Clinton.”

“When we sell into Mexico there is a tax,” Trump said. “When they sell, automatic, 16 percent approximately. When they sell into us, there is no tax. It’s a defective agreement. It has been defective for a long time, many years. But the politicians haven’t done anything about it. In all fairness to Secretary Clinton, yes, is that okay? Okay, I want you to be very happy. Very important to me.”

Clinton seemed to nod that she was fine with that reference.
