Fox News host Chris Wallace had a tough question for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at the top of his interview on Sunday.
“Do you think you need to tone it down, do you think, as you become the frontrunner for the nomination, to act more presidential?” Wallace asked Trump on “Fox News Sunday.”
“Well, probably I do,” Trump replied, before talking about his admiration for former President Abraham Lincoln.
“So, when are you going start?” Wallace countered.
“Well, pretty soon,” Trump said.
Trump has previously said that he has used his rhetoric to stand out from the other candidates in the race.
Every surface in his apartment is gilded or mirrored. He splashes his name on anything he owns, in gilt. He erects gaudy buildings (and likes his women to be the same - tall and tacky). You expect him to show some dignity? He’s a short fingered vulgarian.
Er, Chris, he’s running in the Republican primary. Being immature, belligerent and hateful is a plus not a minus. If he gets the nomination then he will have to act more presidential, but not now, it’s too soon.
As long as their base consists of petulant, immature brats, there’s no reason for Trump to change.
If it ain’t broke, what’s there to fix?
“So, when are you going start?” Wallace countered.
“Well, pretty soon,” Trump said.
This is who is going to Make Our Country Great Again
He will and he will. And then Wallace will forget he ever asked that question, and we’ll all be agahst at how the media seems to have forgotten all the things Trump said. Dems will produce video of said things, and the media will run that actual video against a Trump spokesman saying some version of “Don’t believe your lying eyes”, as a controversy.
