Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump said in an interview aired Sunday that he was “blindsided” by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) saying he couldn’t yet support the businessman.
Ryan said last week after Trump swept in the Indiana primary that he was “just not ready” to support him. Trump quickly shot back and released a statement of his own that said he was “not ready” to support Ryan’s agenda.
“I like Paul Ryan. I think he’s a very good guy. He called me three weeks ago, and he was so supportive. It was amazing,” Trump said on NBC News’ “Meet the Press.” “And I never thought a thing like this. I got blindsided by this.”
NBC Host Chuck Todd suggested to Trump that the real estate mogul was “stunned” by Ryan’s words.
“No, I would say stunned is a little bit— it’s politics. I’m never stunned by anything that happens in politics,” Trump said. “Yeah, I was blindsided a little bit, because he spoke to me three weeks ago, and it was a very nice call, a very encouraging call.”
Trump continued and said that he wasn’t sure what Ryan was doing with “this number,” but that it was “OK.”
Watch below:
Yes, I was blindsided as well… that the modern republican party would nominate someone like you. However, after Palin… I should have known better.
Well Trump should then just put a big scowl of his red face and shout “You Fired” at Paul Ryan.
There, that should do it.
Hey Repukes! Enjoy the movie: "There Will be Blood."
The Republican Cult has only seen the previews! The feature will premier in Cleveland.
OK, here’s the thing.
Ryan had an aide email the Times to say there was no call three weeks ago.
We know he’s a constant bullshitter and outrageous liar. The question at this point is to decide whether beyond that he’s just a fantasist or full-on clinically delusional. Not in touch with reality. Like that.
Nice pick, GOP primary plurality. Real nice pick you made there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqCfdG9BIQEMs Palin weighed in with a fairly pithy (for sister Sarah) comment on CNN saying Ryan should be “Cantored” via a primary. And then she followed with period quality Palinspeak that I feel I should share for community amusement. To wit:
“His political career is over but for a miracle because he has so
disrespected the will of the people, and as the leader of the GOP, the
convention, certainly he is to remain neutral, and for him to already
come out and say who he will not support is not a wise decision of his,”
Palin continued.

On a completely separate and unrelated subject…
