Donald Trump said in an interview aired Sunday that “a lot of people” thought former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes would run his campaign.

Trump said on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that, at first, he didn’t want to comment on Ailes. Ailes announced he was leaving Fox last week amid sexual harassment allegations.

“But he’s been a friend of mine for a long time. And I can tell you that some of the women that are complaining, I know how much he’s helped them. And even recently. And when they write books that are fairly recently released, and they say wonderful things about him,” Trump said.

“And now all of a sudden they’re saying these horrible things about him. It’s very sad. Because he’s a very good person. I’ve always found him to be just a very, very good person,” Trump continued. “And by the way, a very, very talented person. Look what he’s done. So I feel very badly. But a lot of people are thinking he’s going to run my campaign.”

  1. Thelma and Louise. Right over the cliff. Good riddance.

  2. Needy, Donald. Not a good look for you.

  3. Mad as a hatter. Ailes was the least of it. Here’s what the Guardian reported:

Donald Trump has claimed that the European Union was created to “beat the United States when it comes to making money” in an interview with NBC News.

Speaking to Chuck Todd, whom the Republican nominee has repeatedly berated as “sleepy-eyed”, Trump also said of the EU “the reason that it got together was like a consortium so that it could compete with the United States”.

The European Union was founded as the European Coal and Steel Community in 1952 in an effort to promote strong cross-border ties in Europe and avoid future wars. It has since evolved to a customs union and eventually to the transnational entity devoted to removing internal trade barriers, building a common market and a fiscal union. Its development and growth has been repeatedly supported by the United States under presidents of both parties.

  4. Lord his ‘word salad’ is so pathetic. What I did notice on MTP is when Trump starts in with ‘excuse me, excuse me’ you know he really means ‘Excuse me, I’m getting ready to lie here so shut up!’…

  5. Now we know what ails Trump. Pun intended.
