Corey Lewandowski, campaign manager to presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, said it would be a waste of time for him to debate Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
Trump released a statement on Friday saying that debating Sanders would be an “easy pay day” but that he was focused on deafeating Sanders’ opponent, Hillary Clinton.
Lewandowski echowed that sentiment on “Fox News Sunday,” saying that the campaign was “squarely focused” on beating Clinton in the general election.
“We’re not going to waste our time debating Bernie Sanders when he’s not going to be the Democratic nominee,” Lewandowski said.
Lewandowski said in the same interview that the campaign had narrowed the list of vice president possibilities for Trump, but didn’t name who was in the running.
