The Democratic primary contest in Kentucky was too close to call as of Wednesday night at 7:45 p.m. EST, according to CNN and MSNBC.

Polls closed at 6 p.m. local time in the state, which is split between central and eastern time zones. Polling in the Bluegrass State was scarce, with the most recent poll being taken in March.

As of 9:35 p.m. EST, CNN projected that Clinton was leading Sanders by 1,781 votes with 99% of precincts reporting.
