Prominent lobbyist and lawyer Thomas H. Boggs, Jr. died on Monday in his Chevy Chase, Md. home, the Washington Post reported.
Boggs died from an apparent heart attack, his sister, journalist Cokie Roberts told the Post.
He was the son of Thomas Hale Boggs, a former House Majority Leader and Representative from Louisiana.

May he rest in peace, and while I’ve never heard of him, it is his sister Cokie Roberts we’ve all heard of. She’s the reporter who in 2008 on an ABC news program said candidate Obama shouldn’t go to a “foreign exotic” place like Hawaii for vacation but should instead go to Myrtle Beach SC.
He has been one of the most important people in American politics for decades, and very few American people ever heard of him. That’s because he has long been one of the top lobbyists, representing everything from good groups (occasionally) to evildoers of all stripes (usually), and, like most lobbyists, 4operated solely within the power centers within the Beltway.
I’m not sure why it was omitted from the article, but he is also the son of Lindy Boggs, who was a pioneering woman in 20th-century politics. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/former-rep-lindy-boggs-dies-at-97 has some information, but the web has a lot more. Regardless of her accomplishments (which were many), I believe she deserves a mention in her son’s obituary.
And made a fortune.
Yeah, she’s a dopey Republican Tool in the DC Village of Cool People, and her brother was a bottom-feeding lobbyist making money in smoked-filled rooms forever. These apples fell far from the tree their parents planted.
