As Baltimore residents continue to protest the death of Freddie Gray in police custody, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday accused President Obama of worsening racial tensions in the country.

“President Obama, when he was elected, he could have been a unifying figure,” Cruz said at a U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce event, according to Politico. “He could have chosen to be a leader on race relations and bring us together. And he hasn’t done that, he’s made decisions that I think have inflamed racial tensions that have divided us rather than bringing us together.”

Obama addressed the Baltimore protests on Tuesday. He condemned violence and called for reforms.

“If we think we’re going to send police to do the dirty work of containing the problems that arise there — without as a nation and society saying what can we do to change those communities, to help lift up communities, and give those kids opportunity — then we’re not going to solve this problem,” Obama said.

Following the riots in Baltimore on Monday, numerous conservatives placed blame on Obama and his failed leadership.

Obama has inflamed racial tensions by just being himself.

His two offenses (according to how Republicans see it):

    1. Being black
    2. Not apologizing for that and/or not suggesting that black people are to blame for all of their own problems.
  4. Just when you think Cruz can’t be a bigger asshat, he bumps up a size.

And as of yet not a single journalist has asked one of these GOP’ers to explain just how Obama is at fault. Not a single Journo has pointed out that NO protestor has blamed Obama and almost all are motivated against an authority State the GOP is in love with. No journo has asked why the folks in Ferguson or Baltimore are thugs…but the ones at Bundy ranch were considered heros. As were the “Brooks Brothers rioters”.

No journalist has asked why it seems OK for white folks to do it ( and patriotic ) yet its thuggery when blacks do it. It’s Obama’s fault…but not Reagan’s or Bush’s when the same thing happens on their watch.

And don’t expect any journalist to go after idiots like Cruz. They agree with him.
