Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) office on Friday declined to respond to former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s (R) accusation that President Barack Obama doesn’t love America.

TPM reached out to representatives for 10 of the people considered to be mulling a shot at the 2016 Republican presidential nomination after Giuliani’s comments emerged as the latest litmus test for GOP contenders.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), who was reportedly sitting a few seats down from Giuliani when he made his original comments on Wednesday night at a private dinner in Manhattan, also declined to say whether he thinks Obama “loves America” during a CNBC interview the next day.

“You can say that we declined to comment,” Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier wrote in an email to TPM on Friday. “Thanks!”
