Republican presidential candidate and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz joked at Friday’s Values Voter Summit that conservatives terrified House Speaker John Boehner into resignation.

“You want to know how much each of you terrify Washington?” Cruz told the crowd of conservatives at the conference at Washington, D.C. “Yesterday, John Boehner was Speaker of the House.”

  2. They’re going to give us a spectacular and classy gov’t shutdown. Then they’ll get an equally spectacular drubbing at the polls in '16. Depending on length of shutdown, maybe even the House. Their numbers fell far enough during the last shutdown to make that a possibility.

  3. I hope you’re right. If Boehner passes a funding bill with Dem votes and avoids a shutdown voters may not punish them next year.
