Law enforcement officials in Texas have indicated that the bullet’s used by the suspect in Thursday’s high-speed chase and shoot-out in north Texas were the same brand and caliber as those used to kill Colorado Department of Corrections chief Tom Clements earlier this week.

According to The Denver Post, Texas Ranger Anthony Bradford described the 9mm shell casings in an application to search the 1991 Cadillac DeVille driven Thursday by Evan Ebel. Ebel, who has been identified as a member of a white supremacist prison gang, died from wounds he received in the shoot-out with sheriff’s deputies.

While media outlets have reported that Ebel is a suspect in Clements’s murder, officials stopped short of calling him such in a press conference on Friday.
