Pro-Romney super PAC Restore Our Future has a new video pushing the idea that the Obama camp is hostile to mothers. Called “Mother’s Day,” the video recalls the attacks of “White House insider Hilary Rosen,” who said on CNN that Ann Romney has “never worked a day in her life,” and from Obama donor Bill Maher, who said Mitt Romney’s wife “has never gotten her ass out of the house.”
The ad recalls that Ann Romney raised five boys, and battled both breast cancer and multiple sclerosis, concluding: “Happy Mother’s Day from Barack Obama’s Team,” with pictures of Obama, Maher and Rosen. Maher and Rosen are Obama supporters, but not part of his administration or campaign operation.
Polls show Romney suffering from a gender gap even after the Rosen controversy erupted last month. A USA Today/Gallup Poll this week showed the gender gap in swing states has widened to a 20-point advantage for Obama.
