Jennifer Roubenes Allbaugh (pictured), who went by the name "Ruby" in adult films, confirmed to Politico that she sent the tweet, adding that she sent it as "revenge" because she was upset that her relationship with Kuhn had ended.
She later removed the tweet and Kuhn got a cease-and-desist order against her.
In a direct message on Twitter, Allbaugh told Politico's John Bresnahan that she “just wanted to teach the pompous a— a lesson.”
“I was trying to make him hate me, I guess,” she said.
Kuhn apologized in a statement to Politico on Tuesday.
“Over the weekend, I was the victim of an attack on Twitter from a woman I had a relationship with in my personal life,” he said. “I realize and apologize I had used poor judgement in my personal life regarding this relationship. The woman who posted this has reached out to me to apologize.”
Kuhn was a longtime aide of Stivers and served as his chief of staff since 2011. He is single, and Allbaugh is married, according to Politico.
