Jon Stewart expressed disbelief Wednesday that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) — long one of the most vocal proponents for military intervention in Syria — would spend a hearing on the authorization to use force playing video poker.

Stewart said there’s a better place than the Senate where the Arizona Republican can spend his days.

“You know what, senator? Go,” Stewart said. “There’s a rascal scooter and a bucket of quarters with your name on it over at the “Golden Nugget.” You can play all the video poker you want, 99 cent prime rib. Instead of playing pretend poker in the actual Senate, go to an actual casino and pretend you know what the government should do.”

McCain laughed off the matter and lamented that he lost the game, a reaction that the “The Daily Show” crew turned into a GIF.
