Rep. Steve King (R-IA) on Wednesday said that President Obama’s only goal is to push the U.S. “toward the ideology of Karl Marx.”
While discussing Obama’s executive actions on immigration with Glenn Beck, King said that if the President “defies” a court ruling against his actions, it will move “him into emperor status.”
“And his calculation is not what’s true and just and right or even good for America — it’s how can he exploit his power base and move our country to the left toward the ideology of Karl Marx, how far can he go and get away with it,” King said, according to audio highlighted by Buzzfeed News. “There’s not conscience involved in this, there’s no sense of duty to the Constitution or his oath to it.”
King also warned Beck about the impact a Supreme Court ruling in favor of same-sex marriage would have on the country.
“If this court decides that they’re going to change the definition of marriage, that then throws this country into an endless trauma,” he said. “We need a new president.”
