A New York politician claimed he’d been the victim of hacking this week after the New York Post discovered he was following a porn star on Twitter.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone (D) told the newspaper for an article published Friday night that a malicious attack had led the politician’s own Twitter account to begin following that of adult actress Belle Knox.

The porn star made headlines earlier this year by revealing she was making adult movies to pay her way through college at Duke University.

“County Executive Bellone’s Twitter account, which is operated by his staff, has been hacked and an obscene Twitter account was subsequently followed,” Bellone’s spokeswoman told the newspaper.

She also told the Post the matter had been reported to law enforcement and “the Suffolk County Police Department is currently investigating.”

As the newspaper pointed out, another New York politician, former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D), famously blamed hackers in 2011 for his X-rated interactions on the Internet. Weiner eventually admitted he was a serial sexter and resigned from Congress.
