One of the University of Central Florida students caught chanting “rape” in a recently released recording has been identified as a man accused of sexual assault last year.
In the audio recording that surfaced last week, men at an off-campus apartment for Sigma Nu fraternity members were heard saying “let’s rape some bitches,” calling women “fucking sluts,” and repeatedly saying “rape” in an expletive-laden recording.
In an article published on Monday, the Orlando Sentinel confirmed the man’s identity with the woman who reported the assault, who said she recognized his voice.
The woman said she was assaulted in October 2014, when she woke up in Sigma Nu’s off-campus apartments, felt pain, and noticed an unwrapped condom on the floor, according to the Sentinel. She reported the incident to UCF police in February, who forwarded the case to the state attorney in April. The Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office would not confirm that they had received the case.
The recording was reportedly made in June by a woman who is not a UCF student, but was dating one of Sigma Nu’s members at the time and was friends with the victim. That woman gave the recording to the victim, who filed a complaint with the university, according to the Sentinel.
Because the fraternity member has not been criminally charged, the newspaper did not identify him.
The university suspended the fraternity last month after the recording came to light.

Now, I am not saying she asked for it…
But when women date assholes like this, there is a certain amount of rewarding bad behavior going on.
Now was it legitimate rape or something God intended? Just future republicans being boys…
Perhaps you already understand this, but I just want to make it clear that the story doesn’t say that the sexual assault victim was dating the guy who is accused of sexually assaulting her. It says that the person who recorded the rape enthusiasts was dating a different frat brother. Granted, probably most of the frat brothers are assholes too, but there’s not enough info in the story to conclude whether this was the case with the videographer’s boyfriend.
A voice in a group of guys yelling “let’s rape some bitches” is accused of sexual assault.
Imagine that.
I don’t get how you came up with that comment from this article. Was reporting the incident to the police “rewarding his bad behavior?”
