On MSNBC Tuesday evening, Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) pointed to Citizens United and the flood of outside money and negative advertising as a key reason for what he calls “singular lack of enthusiasm” in his home state.
Brown said that part of this lack of enthusiasm is because of dissatisfaction with the newly elected Republican governor and legislature. But he said, voters enthusiasm has been dampened because they’re “sick of all this corporate money, they’re sick of all the negative stuff.”
Brown says his main worry for Democrats in Ohio is that Republican intransigence in Congress will slow the recovery.
