In effort to educate Nevada voters on the candidates in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate, Sharon Angle, the GOP nominee in the 2010 race who is running for the seat again, listed a website for rival Rep. Joe Heck (R-NV) that redirects to to the website cartoonsex.com
In a newsletter linked from her campaign website called the “The Angle Examiner,” a table comparing the various’ candidates in the race lists Heck’s website as www.joeheck.com. The website www.joeheck.com redirects to a website called “Cartoon Sex” that features graphic illustrations and videos of, well, cartoons having sex. Heck’s campaign website is actually www.drjoeheck.com.
A physical version of the flyer was also mailed out to voters.
“It is an inadvertent print error in a candidate grid where the ‘dr.’ is missing from his web address,” Angle campaign spokesman Todd Bailey told TPM. “The Angle campaign has, in no way, promoted the website. It is a simple printing error.”
He added that the Heck campaign has changed its website multiple times.
Late update: Heck’s campaign responded to an inquiry from TPM Thursday evening with doubts that the website link was a mistake. “The Sharron Angle campaign has been spreading misinformation to voters and unfortunately this is the latest, ridiculous, dirty trick,” Brian Baluta, a spokesman for Heck’s campaign, said in an email.
Unfortunately, idiocy is an incurable chronic disease.
Accidentally? Sure it was.
Especially for Republicans.
