Senate Votes 82-15 To Advance Immigration Bill

The U.S. Senate on Tuesday voted 82-15 to advance the so-called Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform bill, which includes a path to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants, to floor debate. All fifteen no votes came from Republicans.

Three Republican senators abstained from voting: Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, John McCain of Arizona and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska. See the full vote tally here.
