The Senate Conservatives Fund has endorsed tea party candidate Dr. Milton Wolf in the race for Sen. Pat Robert’s (R-KS) Senate seat.

“Dr. Milton Wolf is a principled conservative who will fight to stop the massive spending, bailouts, and debt that are bankrupting our country,” Senate Conservatives Fund Executive Director Matt Hoskins said in a statement obtained by TPM on Tuesday.

Wolf, a radiologist and tea party favorite, is actually President Barack Obama’s second cousin. He jumped into the race for Roberts’s seat in October

“He’s not a career politician. He’s a doctor who understands exactly why Obamacare must be repealed,” Hoskins added. “Kansas Republicans deserve a real choice this election, and Dr. Wolf gives them a chance to send someone new to Washington who will shake things up and bring about real change.”

Wolf’s candidacy is still a longshot but the SCF endorsement and support will likely help him raise his profile in the race.
