Sen. Menendez: Immigration Reform A Priority In 2nd Obama Admin

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) expressed confidence Thursday that if President Obama is reelected, immigration reform will be a top priority and would have a shot at passing Congress. On a conference call with reporters, Menendez discussed why Republicans were losing ground among Latino voters on immigration.

I have no doubt that the president in a second term would, number one, use his political capital to achieve comprehensive immigration reform. It is this president that has given us administrative relief in the absence of Congress voting for immigration reform. And I believe that it would be a priority in his next administration.
