Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) is slated to address an Iowa State Democratic party fundraiser as its keynote speaker in August, fueling speculation about a 2016 presidential run, the Des Moines Register reported Wednesday.
Klobuchar’s speech at the 10th Anniversary North Iowa Wing Ding Fundraiser marks the first possible 2016 Democratic candidate to visit Iowa since the 2012 election, per the Register.
The senator has been touted as a potential 2016 candidate if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton opts not to run.
