With reports indicating that senators are closing in on a deal regarding border security, one of the Republicans leading the immigration reform effort admitted Wednesday that he doesn’t know how the dispute is going to shake out.
“I don’t know what the hell is going to happen but we’re on the verge of doing something dramatic on the border, and if it happens it will be due to Hoeven and Corker and a lot of our colleagues,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said, as quoted by the New York Times.
Sens. Bob Corker (R-TN) and John Hoeven (R-ND) are reportedly close to offering a proposal to strengthen border securtiy that would serve as an alternative to the amendment proposed by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX).
