Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) is headlining a fundraiser for North Carolina House Speaker Thom Tillis’ (R) 2014 Senate campaign against Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC).

A source close to Burr confirmed to TPM on Monday that Burr would be at the fundraiser, but “that does not constitute an official endorsement. Sen. Burr has always said he’ll help any NC republican who wants to come to DC to raise money.”

According to The Hill, Sens. Bob Corker (R-TN) and John Barrasso (R-WY) will also be at the Washington, D.C., fundraiser.

Tillis is one of a number of Republicans that have jumped in the race against Hagan. Last week, Rev. Mark Harris and tea partier Greg Brannon (R) said they would also be running for Hagan’s seat. North Carolina state Senate President Phil Berger (R) has shown a strong interest in running but has not announced whether he will or not.
