House Republicans wanted to know what Scott Walker tells voters about a would-be president who lacks a college degree. So they asked the GOP Wisconsin governor about it Tuesday, and they say he passed the quiz with flying colors. Walker met privately at Republican Party headquarters with dozens of GOP lawmakers. Fellow Republican Wisconsinite Rep. Paul Ryan, among those who sponsored the gathering, said Walker hadn't met most of them before and wanted to "kick the tires." A day after Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) said he wouldn’t take a stance on Syrian refugees, the Republican presidential candidate said that the United States should not let more of them into the country, according to a report Wednesday by Wisconsin Public Radio.

Walker did not give an answer Tuesday when he was asked how he would address the Syrian refugee crisis.

“I’m not President today and I can’t be President today,” Walker said on ABC News. “Everybody wants to talk about hypotheticals; there is no such thing as a hypothetical.”

But Walker changed his tune Wednesday after he received criticism for not taking a stance.

“No, we shouldn’t be taking on any more Syrian refugees right now,” he said in Wisconsin, according to the report. “In the last year America has received almost 70,000 refugees of which nearly 2,000 are from Syria. We’ve spent something like $4 billion in humanitarian relief in terms of helping the situation in Syria.”

“So, we’re doing more than any other country in the world and it’s got to be clear that the problem that has to be addressed is not the refugee issue that’s a symptom, the real problem is this administration fails to deal with taking on ISIS,” he said according to the radio station.
