Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) rejected House Speaker John Boehner’s “plan B” to avert the fiscal cliff on Tuesday, an offer similar to a Schumer proposal earlier this year that set the Bush-era tax rate threshold at $1 million:
“Republicans should’ve taken Senator Schumer’s offer two years ago when they had the chance,” said spokesman Brian Fallon. “We’ve had an election on the President’s tax plan, the President won, and Republicans can’t turn the clock back. It’s not surprising Republicans are having buyer’s remorse, but we need higher revenues now.”
