Echoing the words of “top analysts,” MSNBC pundit Joe Scarborough said that a Tuesday news conference in the White House briefing room was evidence that President Barack Obama has already become a lame duck who’s lost command of his second term.
“The reviews not good,” Scarborough said Wednesday on his eponymous program “Morning Joe.”
Scarborough then pointed out that the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd, the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank and the Huffington Post’s Howard Fineman “wrote the same thing.”
Dowd’s column ran under the headline “Bottoms Up, Lame Duck.” Milbank wrote that Obama “seemed oddly like a spectator” at the news conference. Fineman wondered if Obama was really serious when he joked that he should “should just pack up and go home.”
“We are at a strange point where the President’s not even six months into his second term and he already looks like a lame duck to many people that are top analysts,” Scarborough said.
