A spokesman for Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) said that the legislator and Donald Trump had a “gracious exchange” during a meeting Thursday, but that the election “remains a dumpster fire.”
Trump’s meeting with Senate Republicans was an intended to be an opportunity for them to get to know their assumed nominee. But the discussion reportedly caused more headaches for some of those in the room.
Trump reportedly called out a number of Republicans who had showed skepticism toward the businessman’s campaign, including Sasse, The Washington Post reported.
Sasse himself reportedly declined to comment, but his spokesman, James Wegmann, seemed to contradict himself in a comment to reporters.
“Senator Sasse went to today’s meeting ready to listen. Senator Sasse introduced himself to Mr. Trump and the two had a gracious exchange,” Wegmann said, according to the Post. “Mr. Sasse continues to believe that our country is in a bad place and, with these two candidates, this election remains a dumpster fire. Nothing has changed.”
hahahaha…that’s +100 points for everyone who’s been posting dumpster fire pictures…congratulations!
“gracious exchange” and “remains a dumpster fire”
these folks must really be in a real daze if they think a dumpster fire can engender a gracious exchange.
Sasse’s positions are crap. However, points for at times being an actual “straight shooter” as opposed to Trump’s BS posturing.
I see you have not received your 2016 GOP Translation Book from Derplitz yet.
Gracious Exchange: A discussion during which neither party shanks the other.
This wingnut prick soooo thinks he’s going to be the nominee in 2020.
