Sarah Palin on Wednesday urged the Republican Party to take its huge midterm elections victory with a grain of salt.

In a Facebook post, the former Republican vice presidential nominee congratulated victorious candidates while cautioning that the GOP shouldn’t interpret the election results as an expression of Americans’ overwhelming support for the party.

“Now, new Republican Congressional majority in the House and Senate, please realize that Americans were not necessarily voting FOR any party; they were voting AGAINST the continued dysfunction and corruption in D.C.,” she wrote.

She further warned that if the GOP wants to keep control of the Senate beyond 2016, party leadership must remain true to their platform and not return to a climate of “business as usual.”

“The Democrats got mauled today, deservedly so,” Palin wrote. “To prohibit that from happening to the GOP in 2016, it must learn the lesson from the last time Republicans held the Senate majority. This time they must not retreat, and it’s our responsibility to hold them accountable.”

“So, establishment types, remember that you didn’t build this!” she added, hearkening back to President Obama’s infamous 2012 campaign trail remark. “This majority that swept you into power tonight is thanks to the rank and file commonsense conservative grassroots. That’s who built it. And they expect results.”
