Former Republican vice presidential nominee and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin thinks she’d make a good Secretary of Energy.

Her first order of business if she would be appointed to head the Department of Energy? Get rid of it, she told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday.

“I think a lot about the Department of Energy. And if I were head of that, I’d get rid of it,” Palin said. “And I’d let the states start having more control over the lands that are within their boundaries and the people who are affected by the developments within their states. So, you know, if I were in charge of that, it would be a short-term job, but it would be a — it would be really great to have someone who knows energy and is pro-responsible development to be in charge.”

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump had said that he would “love” to put Palin in a Cabinet post.

Tapper asked Palin which position she thinks she is most qualified for.

“I think a lot about the Department of Energy, because energy is my baby, oil and gas and minerals, those things that God has dumped on this part of the earth for mankind’s use instead of us relying on unfriendly foreign nations, for us to import their — their resources,” Palin told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday.

  1. 3 articles in a row on Palin? Slow news day?

  2. She’d like a new government job where she can resign the job itself, rather than herself as leader of it.

  3. Well, she has a reputation to maintain…she needs new jobs to quit rather than just becoming a complete and abject failure.

What lovely prose. Energy is her baby. God “dumped” on this part of the earth. No! No! God “bestowed” those resources on us. You, on the other hand, were dumped upon us.
