Republican presidential candidate and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum railed against the media in a Facebook post Monday, a day after USA Today reported that his campaign might be drawing to an end.

Santorum wrote that he “can’t stand the media” and referred to the USA Today article as the “final straw on this camel’s back.”

The newspaper reported Sunday that Santorum himself “acknowledges end might be near.” The article pointed to Santorum’s low polling numbers and a conversation it had with the presidential candidate.

“You reach a point when you realize that you aren’t going to accomplish what you’re going to accomplish and you have to look out for the greater good,” the newspaper quoted Santorum as saying.

Santorum wrote that the mainstream media was out to get him and encouraged his followers to help him “shove it to USA Today and the reporters like them that want to ignore us.”
