Paul Ryan will return to his home state of Wisconsin on Oct. 14, to hold a late fundraising event with Republican Senate nominee Tommy Thompson.
A reception will be held at the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, the Thompson campaign announced Tuesday. Thompson’s own campaign treasury was largely depleted in a heated Republican primary, which the former four-term governor narrowly won in August.
Currently, both the Romney-Ryan presidential ticket, and Thompson’s Senate campaign, are trailing in the polls in Wisconsin. In the PollTracker Average, President Obama leads 51.5 percent to 43.7 percent, and in the Senate race Rep. Tammy Baldwin leads 51.4 percent to 41.5 percent.
