News Corp. chief Rupert Murdoch inadvertently registered for the New York “Independence Party,” Crain’s New York reports. A spokesman for Murdoch told the business newspaper that the media mogul checked the wrong box on a voter registration form. “I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that this was an error,” News Corp spokesman Nathaniel Brown said. “His intention was to register as an ‘independent.’ “

According to Crain’s, the Independence Party has been linked to anti-Semitic statements.
